The Magic of Dulcimer Music
I was in a shop in Little Nashville, Indiana, when I heard Joeme Wilson play the hammered dulcimer. I fell in love with the sound. It had a wild beauty all its own. I know that it is most popular for playing folk music, and the sound originally developed in the Appalachian area of the United States. It was interesting, intriguing, and amazing to hear the sound in Celtic music as well. I went on to purchase a dulcimer, but I am sad to say that I am not good with playing musical instruments, and so I did not benefit from it as I might have hoped to. I do, however, remain a fan of this wild and beautiful music.
